L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon

TO OPEN IN MIAMI FALL 2017

Location Set in Miami's Design District. Reservations for a la carte dining and special events will be available soon.

Celebrated French Chef Joël Robuchon is bringing L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon to Miami, opening in the electrifying Miami Design District in the fall of 2017. Located on Paradise Plaza, in the northern part of the Design District (on 41st Street between NE 1st and 2nd Avenues), the highly anticipated restaurant will join the creative neighborhood’s existing innovative fashion, design, art, architecture and dining brands, including Cartier, Céline, Harry Winston, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and many more.  L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Miami will include the fine dining restaurant and a more casual bar and lounge area downstairs, called Le Bar. Across the plaza in a separate building will be two additional restaurants from Chef Robuchon: his café and bakery concept La Boutique, and an upstairs outdoor dining area called La Terrace.

An iconic culinary figure, Chef Robuchon has been honored with 25 Michelin stars—more than any chef worldwide—including four three Michelin-starred restaurants. L’Atelier, whose name refers to an artist’s studio, emphasizes Chef Robuchon’s hallmark of highly refined clockwork precision and abundant creativity to create simple, straightforward dishes prepared with the highest quality of ingredients. Dissolving the boundaries between kitchen and dining room, L’Atelier’s signature counter seating faces directly into the kitchen, allowing a dynamic interaction between chef and diner and offering direct access to the creative process.

L’Atelier was inspired by Chef Robuchon’s culinary experiences and travels internationally, from the Spanish tapas counter, Japanese sushi bar and French bistro counter concept. In 2003, Robuchon opened his first L’Atelier in Paris in the historic Seventh Arrondissement on the Boulevard Saint German Des Pres and in Tokyo in the Rappongi district. Following the restaurant’s immediate success, Robuchon expanded L’Atelier to other cities including Las Vegas in 2005 inside the MGM Grand, London at Covent Garden, Hong Kong at the Landmark in 2006, Taipei at the Bellavita Shopping Center in 2009, a second L’Atelier location in Paris in 2010 at the Place de l’Etoile on the Champs Élysées, and in Singapore at the World Resort at Sentosa in 2011 – and most recently in Bangkok at the Mahanakhon Cube. The restaurant is set to open its second US location in New York City in Fall 2016. Each restaurant feels of-its-place, staying true to L’Atelier’s original Parisian roots while taking inspiration from its surrounding city and neighborhood.

La Boutique is Joel Robuchon’s all-day café and bakery concept, with 2 current locations in Asia.  La Boutique Miami will offer a selection of freshly made French breakfast pastries and breads, as well as salads and sandwiches available for takeaway throughout the day. Directly outside of La Boutique will be La Terrace, which will offer outdoor seating with table service, as well as beer, wine, cocktails, and small plates of food and snacks.

Located north of downtown and less than ten minutes away from South Beach in a pedestrian-friendly environment, the Miami Design District is currently home to the world’s most innovative retailers including Christian Louboutin, Marni, Maison Martin Margiela, En Avance, Cartier, Celine, Louis Vuitton, Agnona, Dior Homme, Prada, Hermes, Berluti and many more.  By 2016, the Design District is expected to include over 120 luxury-brand stores, a world-class boutique hotel, 15-20 restaurants, luxury residential condos and lofts, galleries, furniture showrooms, and numerous large-scale public art, design and graphic art installations – consistent with the historic DNA of the neighborhood and the unique goal of bringing fashion, design, art, culture and commerce together.

The Miami Design District is owned by Miami Design District Associates, a partnership between Dacra, founded and owned by visionary entrepreneur Craig Robins, and L Real Estate, a global real estate development and investment fund, specializing in creating luxury shopping destinations. Together Dacra and L Real Estate have transformed this once-overlooked area of Miami into a vibrant destination for residents and visitors by presenting the best shopping, cultural and culinary experiences within an architecturally stunning context.

L’Atelier Miami is a partnership between Joël Robuchon, Dacra and INVEST HOSPITALITY founded by Alex Gaudelet who has worked with Joël Robuchon for many years at the MGM Grand, where he served as the VP of Food & Beverage and most recently was the COO of BR Guest Hospitality.
